Our Town

Pandemic shut down our whole town today.
So much for hopin’ it would stay away.
With the uncertainty and fear we all feel, comes a deep
Compassion for how other folks will deal.

It doesn’t matter where this thing came from.
Now it’s clear that we must act as one.
It doesn’t care if you are rich or poor,
Wherever you live it can bust down your door.

When some folks suffer in this world,
Sooner or later we’re all gonna feel it.
When some get sick, it can spread to us all.
There’s no keeping it out with guns and walls.

Only thing left that makes sense to do,
Like the people all over my neighborhood.
Only way we’re all gonna get through,
Is pull together for the common good.

Pandemic shut down our whole town today.
